When did it first infect you? The desire to travel, the inability to sit still for too long, the desire to see what was over the horizon. It struck me as a small child playing in a postage stamp sized backyard pressed against the C&O railroad. We were so close that all conversation stopped in the house as the trains passed because no one could hear over the rumble of the trains rolling down the rails to places unknown. The logos on the rail cars gave hints: B&O, Seaboard, Burlington, Grand Trunk, N&W, Santa Fe and other places I wanted to see without knowing what or where they were. I was infected with wanderlust and there was no cure. Over the last several years I have had the opportunity to travel far beyond where even my imagination took me in those long gone years as a boy in West Virginia. Now that I have retired, I have started a blog as a way to share my travels. Get your traveling shoes down and follow my posts, photos and updates.
